Danny Lassiter April 2018 Retirement

It is with gratitude that the Carolina Water Service, Inc. of North Carolina (CWSNC) family announces the retirement of Danny Lassiter, Regional Manager for Eastern North Carolina, effective April 15, 2018.

Since 2006, Danny has played a critical role in the development and success of the organization, and while we will miss his inspiring leadership, we wish him the best of luck in his retirement.  We want to thank him for eleven years of dedicated service to CWSNC out of the more than 42 years of his water and wastewater career.

Danny began as a private water system owner/operator transitioning to the public sector with the City of Garner and West Smithfield Sanitary District.  Danny transitioned to private water with Heater Utilities (now Aqua) before retiring with CWSNC.

Active in the water/wastewater profession, Danny served on the NC811 Underground Damage Prevention Review Board, American Water Works Association (AWWA) Schools and Education Committee, and as a member in both the Lower Neuse Basin Association (LNBA) and the Neuse River Compliance Association (NRCA).

Danny also retires from the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department as Chief after approximately twenty-two and a half years.  He spent seven years as an Emergency Medical Technician with the Smithfield Emergency Management Service.  Danny is married to Carole and has two daughters and seven grandchildren.  He and his wife plan on continuing their love of teaching shag dancing and snow skiing.

Over the next few months, we will be conducting a search to find the new Regional Manager for Central & Eastern North Carolina.  During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to lead this region, while still maintaining a stable and effective organization as we continue to serve our customers with excellence.

Again, we cannot thank Danny enough for the dedication, passion, enthusiasm, and motivation he has given CWSNC over the past eleven years.  He will be greatly missed by the staff, customers, and our community partners.

If you have any questions or concerns during this transition period, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at matthew.klein@carolinawaterservicenc.com.

Sincerely,

Matthew Klein, President
